Rating 4.14 out of 5 29 reviews
From my experience at Vermilion High School, I can genuinely say that I have never been surrounded by more welcoming staff as well as students. I was a new student in the district going into my freshman year and so many people helped calm down the inevitable nerves. The staff members, not specifically just the teachers, are extremely helpful and patient as well. As someone who has struggled and sought extra help in a specific subject, I have never come across more willing and open-armed individuals. This has made it so much easier to ask for help and fulfill the education my family and I have sought for myself. Not only this but the environment of the school as an entirety is nothing but positivity. Although it sounds euphoric and almost like a scene from a movie, that really is how I would describe it as a current student. I truly could not have imagined growing up in a different environment and/or school district and I am forever grateful for Vermilion Local Schools District.
Vermilion High School is a place for students, grades eight through twelve to prepare for college and other post secondary options. Vermilion is a bully-free zone and is free of judgement and hate altogether. The teachers, as well as some students refuse to stand for bullying in the school, and will do anything to avoid it. The classes are interactive and allow the students to learn with labs and activities rather than just lectures. This combination helps students understand the subjects they learn, as well as have fun in school. The teachers at Vermilion High School grow very close to students and understand their individual personalities and know what is best for them when it comes to them struggling in a class or dealing with something outside of school. They will do anything they can to make sure the students succeed and are at their full potential. Vermilion High School is a great place to teach kids the values of life and prepare them for college with personalized instruction.
The fact that the diversity grade is as high as it is, is a joke. I’m half Puerto Rican and graduated from there and can tell you I was DEFINITELY a minority. This school is awful and I will pay any amount of money to make sure my child doesn’t have to go there. They didn’t care about actually helping children learn, it’s sad.
