Vashon Island School District Reviews
The staff of the building are all very friendly and open-minded, and do their best to understand and accept differences. The school as a whole does a good job understanding diversity, promoting student growth, and attempting to help those enrolled in any way they can. Compared to most other schools in the state, Vashon Island High School is likely superior to most of them, not only handling a rather modern-style building, but also able to show strong evidence of positive student education experiences.
Vashon Island has a very good school district, it is very focused on the growth of the student and how it can help kids succeed. In my experience, all of my teachers were very good, except fourth grade, but she retired. The high school provides excellent college prep classes and resources. Would highly recommend it to anyone in the Seattle Area
It is a very safe environment. Everyone is welcome, however most of the residents are white, liberal, and middle-class. They will accept anyone. The teachers are very well educated, I had a teacher who graduated from Stanford with all A's and a bachelor's in physics. Other teachers don't seem too in love with their job, or kids, though.
