Van Wert school district has amazing facilities, a performing arts center, and many other amazing qualitys; however, the teachers and school need to be more accepting of transgender, gay, and the likewise students. They are always bullied and the school does nothing about it. Most teachers are amazing but some, such as Jeff Kallas, do not respect LGBT students by any regards. He calls his students snowflakes and finds ways to insult them because he cannot change to the standards and ideals of the next generation. He made us do the chicken dance in front of the whole class if we wanted his signature for skipping his exam (as given through the renaissance program), which is degrading and he laughed at it.

I attended school in the VW City School District from kindergarten through high school graduation. It was a wonderful community to grow up in, with dedicated teachers, nice facilities, and Project Based Learning.
Because Van Wert High is one of the bigger schools in the area it was very easy to meet new people for everything you did. Granted the school it's self took great advantage of self teaching.
