I love that in my school, everyone is given a chance. The teachers push us to do our best but they won't push us to our breaking point. Van Buren is not 100% up to date, but the teachers and staff work with what they have to help our students. Plus, our school is small enough that you know practically everyone's name. No school is perfect, Van Buren has a number of flaws. But, overall it is not a bad place to grow up in and learn academic and life lessons. We work with what we have available and we do well, a majority of kids strive to take college classes and to get their GPA as high as possible. If someone wants to know how to be themselves, and make the best out of what they have, then they should consider a small school in Van Buren county Iowa.

It is my second year here at Van Buren it was not as horrible as I guessed it would be. There is all newly reactivated with in 2 years, it has very very nice science rooms. One thing that bugged me was that they put so much into the school, but they forgot the small things. Other than that it is a very nice place and the teachers are not horrible, there is lots of verity that is for sure. This school is a whole grade sharing agreement, at first it was tough but everyone was new to the building so it was not too bad.
I like the simplicity of this school, but I feel that many improvements could be made. I understand that the budget is not very large, but if they do get more money they should definitely utilize it for community wants and needs.
