Valparaiso Community School has just been newly remodeled and now has a nice new look. The atmosphere gives me a nice and clean environment to learn and feel comfortable. The teachers are nice and helpful when needed. The curriculum is challenging and allows for students to push themselves.
Valparaiso Community Schools are top in Northwest Indiana for education. From the elementary schools up to the high school, these schools offer so much for the students that attend. Their academics programs are wonderful and really help the students excel in all their learning. The teachers work very hard to accommodate all students, whether online or in person. The VCS also offer a huge variety of clubs and activities. Any student, if they want, can find something to participate and thrive in. The sports programs in Valparaiso Schools are amazing and offer youth many avenues to improve and show case their talents. The schools are very safe and the administration provides great communication with the parents and families to make sure all are informed of protocols. VCS also has wonderful Art and Music programs. My children have benefited from the wealth of knowledge of many of the musical talents in the schools. They also have a great STEAM program throughout all the schools.
They treat their students well and they care about opportunities. They have problems caring about the arts, they also have problems with helping their teachers succeed.
The best part about the Valparaiso Community Schools is their drive to provide the best education for their students as noted in their star ratings and the students’ performance in the state assessments. The teachers are easy to communicate with and provide the extra help needed for the students. They provide enough challenges and resources to promote the growth of each student without the frustration. The environment of a small city and the whole community as well is a great set-up in support of the children in the community. We are very lucky to be part of this.
great teachers and great resources. huge curriculum. beautiful facility, student services staff super helpful.
I appreciate the effort and attention that is put towards students in this school system. As students, we are offered a variety of different opportunities to be involved. Personally, I feel that Valparaiso has set me up for success in my higher level education. There is also a strong push for incorporating college and career readiness into the content and education. I think that is incredibly important seeing that this is what we are preparing for. We are preparing for the rest of our lives.
My time at Valpo has been normal. My teachers are pretty good and they've helped me going forward with collage. But it's really annoying some times to have to deal with other students because they can be extremely annoying.
I really like the teachers that are in the school system. They are extremely open-minded and will attempt to help you to the best of their abilities. Also, there are many different clubs and activities to keep students busy after school. On the other hand, sometimes they assign way too much work and it makes it hard to study for tests the next day.
Valparaiso Community Schools has been a great part of my entire school career. It has given me several wonderful experiences and many opportunities to spread my wings. The sports, clubs and positive environment is why I love being at Valparaiso High School. I am always looking forward to the sporting events every Friday night, it is always a great time. Attending sporting events has become my favorite part of being a part of Valpo. I love attending several clubs because of the friendly people and teachers. Teachers and students always try to be friendly to you, even on a bad day they make your day brighter. Valpo has very few points to improve, such as needing to take more precautions about not spreading COVID-19. I believe Valpo needs to make it a requirement to wear masks the entire school day to lower the chance of spreading the virus to other students. Overall, I love attending Valparaiso Community Schools and I am thankful for the wonderful memories it has given me.
I enjoyed many of my classes at VHS. Like many schools, there was a mix of personalities, some of which were negative and some of which were positive.
There is a lot of teachers who don’t seem to care same with counselors. WIth bullying there was never a change. Academically we were very much an online school. There were tons of kids with different religious backgrounds. But when VHS came to funding clubs and club week some of the clubs got pushed to the back and forgotten about, making it hard for them to grow their members.
Throughout my time as a student at Valparaiso community schools, I had a memorable time and was met with involved teachers for the entire time of my elementary and middle school years. Once I hit the time of high school, this all seemed to change. The teachers were more focused on just trying to get the course material taught, and then that's it. No one on one time was showed by many teachers. Some would try to spend one on one time with students, but many strayed from it. Overall, a decent experience, but not a very memorable time that I would recommend to people coming to a new school.
It was a nice school. It had many great opportunities for college readiness and advancement. The vocational opportunities are great and the students are very well mannered.
VCS has been a great place to grow up. It's offered a large amount of variety and activities to involve myself in throughout high school.
Valparaiso Community Schools is a fantastic school system. From K-12, I could not have been more fortunate to learn from such great teachers and mentors. Because of our great school system, I was able to obtain the degree, GPA, and test scores needed to gain acceptance to every college I applied for. Valparaiso Community Schools not only enhanced my education during High School, but prepared for a successful college career.
Very tight community, Valparaiso overall excels in academics as well as athletics and is known for that. The community is very tight and cares a lot for the students and athletes which shows in our schools. The administration occasionally lacks empathy for students when it comes to some policies.
The teachers at Valparaiso are mostly amazing! They gladly work with students and make the learning fun, while also engaging. Though, the administration is another story. With that, the entire time I attended Valparaiso High School, it was under construction. This caused a huge annoyance and led to many health concerns and other issues throughout all four years. In the end, I was unable to actually see the results.
