My experience with RE-1 Valley School District was very good. The teachers make an effort to know the student. They take action if they feel that the student's grades are in danger. As well as providing plenty of extra curricular activities. I am currently going on my 4th year of attending this school district and have gone to Sterling Middle School, and I am currently going to Sterling High School. Both places are very welcoming. The staff that work within the school or are teachers care about your well being even outside of school. Although, the staff is amazing, one big change I would like to see in the school is to make more of an effort to prevent verbal or physical bullying. A majority of my classmates when I moved here were of course welcoming, but others decided to start bullying me and some other students. This would be the only change that I would definitely say needs to have a fix on. Overall, the district is a very good district just a change needing to be made.
The district struggled financially which forced lots of budget cuts. However, the district handled these budget cuts very well. I never attended any other district, so I don't have any idea of how other districts operate. Even with my lack of reference, I believe Re-1 Valley Schools does a terrific job.
They have great teachers that seem to really care about the students. Some of the teachers seem to even go out of the way to help a student in need. I have never had a problem with communication with any of the staff with any of my children, if a problem comes up they will either call right away or send me an email letting me know what is going on. They have even gone as far as helping my son at one point with anger issues and finding ways to work them out so he is not in torunble all the time.
