I loved Underwood Schools! Everyone is very welcoming, including, kind, and the teachers are great. I would not change anything about my experience.
Underwood has plenty of opportunities for students to prepare for life after high school. They offer free enrollment into a local community college to take classes there and earn college credits. Every teacher has their own positives to everybody. There will always be a teacher that not every student likes, but I think the likes out weight the dislikes. There is also plenty of students who enjoy being here every day to learn about things. A lot of people care about their futures here and it shows in the classroom. The culture of sports and activities strives here with plenty of student involvement. It also helps that the school is very good at sports so the events are enjoyable. I would recommend people to go to Underwood because it truly is a community where people will look out for you.
Overall, Underwood High School is an outstanding school and safe place to be, they have characteristics that make school not enjoyable. From going to a new school as a junior in high school, I was not able to make friends and have connections with students that already have friends and the people they hang out with. This was a set back for me that made me feel worthless and like an outsider. Other than that though, Underwood has a great academic program with outstanding state test results. I have been able to improve reading, math, and science skills from making the transfer to Underwood High School. Once I was able to get to know the other students at the school, I felt like Underwood was without-a-doubt the school for me.
