It's been a very... meh place, overall, nothing I would recommend but no horror stories, either. Little diversity but the sports scene seems alright, although I have zero athletic inclinations in my being so I have no experience in that department. Teachers teach, but don't go above and beyond or anything, and academics in general are pretty average for a small town - no one is outstandingly overachieving or anything, but most people still care, somewhat, about their education.
my experience with Ukiah high school has been an adventure. As a freshman, there are many resources and friendly teachers to set you off on your way. resources like counselors and clubs. from there you are kind of on your own to forge a pathway that suits you best with the classes that you pick. outreach to kids and an emphasis on mental breaks and students, in general, could improve drastically. many of the teachers and staff there are not like the kids who attend this school, they can't relate to the struggles of poverty and family issues and because of this there is a disconnect between some students and adults.
It is a great school but there should be more trips offered, at least going to a park or a small distraction for students. Also, there are amazing counselors but there are a few that can be biased and have favorite students.
