One of Ukiah Unified School District's most notable achievement is her focus on Hispanic students who come from low-income families that do not have quite the advantage that other students do that live in families with higher yearly incomes. The Mesa program is especially designed for hispanic students who desire to develop careers in mathematics, engineering, and other science related areas.

Focusing on Ukiah High School, I would like to see it's athletic program improve. Teachers and coaches have quarreled on how the program should be implemented; who should coach each sport and even if there should be sports at all at Ukiah High. The progam has deteriorated and I fear without proper nourishment that grades soon will too.

I like the community at Ukiah High, and the opportunities available for everyone. I especially love some of the teachers at this school -some of which have been teaching since our parents were in high school!
The teacher were mostly nice. My favorite teachers were always the ones passionate about what they did. They were so interested in there lessons and what they were teaching It inspired me to learn and get involved with the classes. Something that could be improved is some of the rules.
