The education here is good but is lacking in some areas. As for the music and art departments, we don't receive much money as most of it goes to the sports teams so we have to fundraise our own money. The choir classroom is terrible as it was not built with music in mind the acoustics are pretty bad and there are holes in our ceiling from when our color guard used to practice there, and it never got fixed. The school's academics are pretty well, especially the English departments where the staff don't mind helping us with what we need to get done and are very passionate about what they teach.
While attending Arnold O. Beckman High School, the school and district did their best to prepare students thoroughly. Teachers and staff were compassionate and encouraging towards students, which made the experience a lot more enjoyable. However, like everything in the world, it has faults. Often times, when there was conflict, the district would address it once, usually creating a new protocol, but after, would never enforce the protocol. Things like bullying and racism went over their heads, and although they think it has stopped, it hasn’t. In this district, they provide a safe learning environment, as well a provide students with necessary resources, which is why I gave four stars. However, due to the lack of consistency when enforcing new policies, I removed a star.
I would like the dress code to be more lenient as the weather in Southern California is often humid, hot, and sticky. Other than that, TUSD is a great school district!
