My overall experience with the Tuscaloosa City Schools have been a positive one. From elementary to high school I've dealt with wonderful teachers and administrators. The I.B. program is intense and definitely prepares the students to be successful in college. I only have two things that I'd want to see change. One is the food and the other is a major one. I think Black history should be included more in history. There are things that I had to learn on my own that I feel should have been at least a chapter in school.
They really care about your well being and education. The teachers can teach really good. The classes are fairly easy. They are not to strict long as you're doing what you are supposed to be doing.
The academics are a bit lacking, the only place with exceptional academics is TCT. Staff can be a bit stand-offish sometimes.
Tuscaloosa City Schools overall is decent school district. They do a good job of supplying acceptable facilities for education and extra curricular uses. Some of the faculty could better, but for the most part everyone is fine. They do a decent job of college readiness.
Tuscaloosa city schools have the best education and teachers. Throughout my school years I have been challenged a lot which helped me gain a lot of experience for the way college is set up.
It was fun. I met a lot of people. I also played sports for the school. I loved the teachers the whole staff.
What I like about the Tuscaloosa City Schools is the history it carries from its originating school.
I currently am enrolled in the Tuscaloosa City Schools. I love it to a certain extent. I love the diversity. We have a wide number of career options to choose from at our Career and Technology school where we learn real world traits to help us later in life. I enjoy the sports also we always have something fun to look foward to. Tcs is college and career ready. Teachers and staff are always preparing us for college and the future. I would definetly recommend that anyone attends our school system.
I have go to school in the Tuscaloosa City Schools district my whole life and it has been a wonderful experience. The classroom environments are fun and welcoming and every student receives the same opportunities. This school system is always trying their hardest to reward good behavior and give equal opportunities to everyone who is deserving. The teachers are very hands on and in my experience have always put the students before themselves and their lives. There are so much club and teams and ways to get involved that are inclusive of everyone. I am proud to attend school in the Tuscaloosa City Schools District and anyone with the chance to attend should take it!
Tuscaloosa City Schools is definitely a hit or miss school system. There are some schools that are really great and others that could use some work, but the key to getting ahead and/or at least staying on track is parent involvement. Teachers and staff become much more involved and through in your child's education once they realize there is an active parent in the picture.
I’ve been attending my school (Paul W Bryant) for about 3 years now and my favorite event is always Friday Night Football! It is a good was for students to kick back and enjoy a night dedicated to their school and an opportunity to show who has the best school spirit. One thing that TCS needs to improve on is letting the students have more of a voice and just a little bit more leniency when it pertains to homecoming week, senior week, pep rallies, and so much more! We students also deserve more ACT/SAT prep dedicated to only that. I think it’d be great to have actual prep classes where we do more than online work such as Edgenuity. Although this is a great platform, it should not be all that we desert to. We deserve workbooks, games, flash cards, and more hands on strategies to ensure that the juniors and seniors of our TCS high schools make an excellent score. Overall I love TCS and although we can improve, I would not trade it!
Tuscaloosa city schools has help me a lot academically. Also I feel like they have lots of after school activity and program that really help kids. I know track and field at Paul W Bryant has totally changed my life for the better and I really appreciate the school for it.
The TCS has a wonderful fine arts program and a diverse group of students. The students are talented and administrators are accessible. More resources are needed to decrease classroom size and provide for tutoring sessions for students who need additional help. Competitive sports.
Everyone in the school is very kind. The teaching could be improved. The school looks nice. The athletics are great.
More attention to all fine art programs and more school involvement. The teachers can be more involved in the students lives and make their classrooms and learning more enjoyable. The lunch that is served need to be more presentable and better tasting especially in the high schools.
My experience with Tuscaloosa City Schools has been very welcoming. Although I have been attending Tuscaloosa City Schools since I was in elementary school, each school within this system that I've attended has always been very welcoming and ready to help.I also have always had very good bonds with my teachers in the past, some of those teachers who I still communicate with. This shows me that the teachers not only teach because it's their job, but because they care about their students in the long run.
Tuscaloosa City Schools are great. There are great learning environments. The teachers are great. Your safety is one of their main priorities. My experience was very good. I enjoyed my years of attending. I was able to learn and also have fun doing it. There could be more diversity and parent involvement. Overall, Tuscaloosa City Schools would be a great place to attend.
