Turlock Unified School District Reviews
I love this school district. I grew up in it. But when I was a younger and in elementary school, specifically at Osborn Elementary, the school didn’t act much when I had an incident with a classmate boy who touched me. That incident, however, occurred nearly 12 years ago. At Turlock High School, things were amazing. I love high school. There’s a NJROTC unit, there’s many many clubs, and the teachers were mostly great. I’ve been in the NJROTC unit for nearly 4 complete years. I have to be honest, the unit was only fun for my first 2 years. After that, I became aware of a lot of corruption and that just really decreased my love for NJ. As a senior currently, I loved nearly all the teachers I’ve had. The exceptions are a measly 2. The counselors at THS are also great because they’re on top of you, always trying to prepare you for either the workforce, the military, or college. I’d say THS was overall, great.
Turlock Unified has provided me with many tools to start my college life. The schools work together to create a safe campus and create a place where students can feel accepted. At Turlock High School, there are many diverse clubs that allow students to feel that they belong to something more. The counselors are readily available to help students with any questions or concerns and to make sure they are on the right track. There have been numerous college workshops that allow college readiness. The district has created a welcoming atmosphere that makes all students feel safe knowing that their school wants them to succeed.
My experience at Turlock Unified School District has been overall great. I am glad that I had the opportunity to attend school in this district. Doing so, allowed me to engage with other students from different ethnicities and backgrounds. I had the opportunity to learn two languages including both spanish and english. Something that I would like to see change is to incorporate more bilingual schools. I know that every student is capable of learning and having the same abilities that I do and much more.
