I have attended Troy R-3 school district my entire childhood, from kindergarten all the up to now (senior year). Overall I’ve had a pretty decent time attending this district. I’ve had outstanding teachers, as well as coaches. I think Troy has an excellent community. Everyone here wants to see you put 110% and wants you to succeed. The only thing I would like to see different in the future is politics. The only downside of the Troy school district is “last name” double standards. When it comes to education and sports, students within the community who have a known last name tend to get favoritism. Overall I am proud of where I have received my education and look forward to my future education in college!

If you’re a sports affiliated family, you will absolutely love this school district! Not much else gets recognition, however. Most of administration are so kind and helpful but I think some situations need to be taken more seriously when it comes to students in general.
I have very much enjoyed the last 4 years at Troy Buchanan High School. During that time I was able to follow a career path to help me for my future and to prepare me for college.

I was taught by some great teachers and they helped any time that I needed. I was also able to experience several different music electives. Our school definitely is very fortunate to have one of the best music departments and teachers in our state. During my high school career I participated in 8 different groups. We traveled to many different states and city's to compete locally and on a national level. Being a part of such a wonderful program gave me opportunities to learn different cultures of music and meet a diverse group of people across the USA. I have taken different music classes to teach me about music history and musical theory.

All of this has taught me to work together with others and gave more skills to use in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my time at TBHS.
