I really love the interactions between students and teachers. The teachers here are great and pretty understanding, at least it is at the high school! In middle school the proportion of teachers as understanding or willing to form a friendship with their students was less than those at the high school. In years to come what I would like to see change is having more recognition to all the clubs we have, say, during the first day/week of school have booths for the different clubs! Make it easier to get involved. I would also like to see nicer people who get along better and that there isn't just one group that acts like they run the school, it makes the environment not as pleasant to be in. Even though it isn't necessarily controllable, it would just be nice.

In a general aspect, Traverse City Area Public Schools offers an advanced education that prepares young people for their future.
TCAPS Schools is at best average I attended West High School and Central High School. West High School is a newer building built in the 90s however the architect mainly designed prisons and it felt like it too! Out of every school I attended this school felt the least inviting and I didn't feel like any of the teachers cared at all the social aspect of the school was cliquey and not very friendly and this wasn't just my class this school has a reputation of that. Central was great the teachers and advisors that you didn't even have knew your name I felt that everyone cared about each other, you didn't have to be best friends with everyone to have people go out of their way to talk to you. The open-campus promotes socialization you could stand by the doors by the parking lot at the beginning of lunch and someone would ask you to lunch I found it so much easier to keep my grades up here vs West because I was happy and looked forward to seeing my friends and because I liked my teachers
