My school district ranks number 1! It meets excellence marks in every category listed on this form. I’m very involved in the school and the faculty in charge of the athletics and clubs go above and beyond! It’s a very inclusive school in every aspect and students feel they are part of something special.
When my sons attended (2008-2014), they were well prepared for college and beyond. Today, I cannot say that d211 has continued the excellence tradition. In spite of administrators who cannot lead effectively, teachers have overcome these weaknesses. But the culture has deteriorated as a result of this poor leadership. Parents and community members must step up and take notice.
Teachers are very well trained and they offer academic support all periods. All students feel like they are included in our school environment because our school is very diverse... 50% minority enrollment. Our high school district is one of the largest high school districts in illinois and it offers many clubs and sports for students to participate in after school. Teachers and counselors are always willing to help a struggling student. However, administrators tend to hide away in their offices. In my 4 years at District 211, I’ve never had a conversation with my administrator.
