As a long-time student of this school, I find it heartbreaking to write such a negative review. Unfortunately, the school’s leadership continues to fall well short of normal and customary expectations of a school. The new school board doesn’t appear to be any more effective if not worse than the previous administration. The teachers at Tippecanoe are wonderful but they are not appreciated by the school’s leadership *AKA* Board of education, and it shows.
I like the small school district setting. All of the community's involvement and support of the sports teams, academic clubs, and performing arts. The teachers are very encouraging and supporting of our dreams and goals and help us get to the standard that colleges require. The students are generally nice and welcoming, though it still suffers from the problems that every school suffers from: bullying. All of the accounts that I have witnessed have been dealt with well and have stopped the bully's motives.
The Tipp City Exempted Village School district does a very great job preparing students for college, however there is room for improvement. I would like to see more clubs added such as DECA, for those that are interested in business to help prepare for future college endeavors. Also, I believe counselors could use some more improvement preparing seniors going off to college by checking in with them more & doing more research behind these colleges as to not miss deadlines. As far as sports are concerned, politics are a very heavy factor behind these such as who gets to play or even makes the team. Overall, there are pros & cons but Tipp City does it’s best to prepare its students on all aspects - academics, sports, extracurriculares, etc, for college.
