What I enjoyed about the Timberlane school district was its overall positivity and interaction with its students. Especially during these uncomfortable times during this pandemic, they have made sure to keep the student body's spirit alive. For example, they are having spirit week days for both cohort 1 and 2, and posting the students who participate on an Instagram page run by the student council. One thing that I would change about this district is its ability to prepare students for the college process. There were many questions that both myself and many other students had about the steps that need to be taken to apply to college and what to do afterwards. I know that covid-19 has not made this easy for the school, but I was hoping for more assistance during this process.
I have been at Timberlane since I was in kindergarten. Throughout my experience, a lot of things have changed and so have my interests. However, I have always been into music. I started chorus in elementary school and have done it every year since. The music program is one of the major highlights of Timberlane and we have had many different opportunities to express our shared loved for music. Some things that I would like to see change at Timberlane is the food. I think that there should be healthier options available for the students. The main courses are always include some sort of breaded chicken, pasta, or mashed potatoes. Rarely do students have fruits or vegetables on their plates, and if there are fruits they are usually frozen or canned in syrup.
I loved my high school experience, I felt it was very inclusive and there were really great extra curricular opportunities. However for college preparedness I don’t believe I was as prepared as I would have liked to be
