Tift County Schools Reviews
Minor regulations are valued more than the education of students. Students are frequently pulled out of class to discuss their outfit choices or their "distracting" hair colors. These conversations tend to last anywhere from 10 minutes to multiple class periods. The change from block schedule to period schedule doesn't help. The teachers, like many of the students, are jaded and confused. However, these feelings have created a commonality between the staff and students which has led to a better relationship between the two. TCHS has hosted school spirit weeks in which students are encouraged to dress up according to the day's theme. However, less students are inclined to do so. The closest event we have held to a pep rally this year are the monthly fire drills. TCHS is diverse, but the lack of representation would lead a stranger to believe that the school is made up purely of racist white kids. TCHS is safe from outsiders, but often fails to keep the students safe from each other.
My experience at Tift County High school was great. Many of the teachers are willing to help just to see you succeed. Another thing is that it offers a variety of clubs and sports to choose from. Tift County High School also offers many CTAE programs to helps with career interest.Throughout my years I've also meet many new people who I now consider to be some of my best friends. I've also noticed a lot of changes in which my high school has gone through, for example constructing and remodeling the school. Tift County High School has also become a grade 9-12 high school . This 2018-2019 school year has also been the first year in which we now have 7 periods instead of 4 blocks a day , which has made a huge difference not only on people's schedules but also with how grades work. One thing I would like to see change is how behavior is dealt with which needs some improvement but overall I believe Tift County High School is a great school with excellent members of staff and students.
Many of the teachers are very nice, and will help you learn any way they can. We have many extra curricular activities like: show choir, band, swim, fishing and etc. They are rebuilding part of the school which is annoying brcause of the noise the contruction makes. Most of the acedimic teacher will tutor you as much as you need it. Tift County Schools are amazing.
