Texarkana Independent School District Reviews
Would like to mention transferred from other school, the credits were not excepted. The staff seemed too busy to help out . The graduation process seemed to take a while and still did not receive my diploma. Would like to see more services or programs to help students achieve their goals and more work force programs so students can get paid. No complains, progressing subject areas is another goal. There is help when student falls below grade level. Security is a priority. There are loop holes especially when people or aides do not arrive on time. Summer school is another example of earning credits that are needed to pass grade. Also, it is very unnecessary to have computers for kids who will not be responsible for them. The portable ones. Most teachers seem able to communicate with parents but on limited basis.
I’ve had a great experience so far with this school district my daughter came from a home s book program & this district welcomed her with open arms she began to excel like no other she became the TISD leader 2years straight the ambassador of TISD & also a member of precious Gems & the REACH program which is a college preparatory program they help students expand their horizons by any means necessary I love this school district.!
Although it is not loaded with the resources and reputations of other schools, TISD is an exemplary district, and one that has learned how to launch students to the top. AP classes at the high school ensure that students who wish to get the best education receive it, and most of my teachers were compassionate and genuinely connected to their job. There were the normal pitfalls of public school education- as there always are- but there was an undercurrent of warm-heartedness and spirit that really brought the district together and gave it an excellent reputation in the region.
