My experience at tamaqua has been horrible, due to bullying, almost getting raped and no one taking care of it, and dismissing students when they need help the most. The change I would love to see in tamaqua is that admistration and faculty is more involved and shows they care about us! Another thing I would love to see change is our meal plans because they are very poor and don’t give us the nutritions we need, as well as some staff and teachers because they don’t preform as good as they should. Finally I would enjoy if they take bullying to a serious matter instead of rating it off based off of popularity, and actually handle the situation instead of making it worse! Overall I feel that if this school followed these guidelines people would enjoy coming to school more instead of skipping almost everyday
Tamaqua is a wonderful high school with vast learning opportunities, as they offer various AP courses in each subject. The community is amazing and the sports programs are outstanding. The musical and arts achievements of the school are superb and one of the best things about Tamaqua. Though a lot of students do not participate in any athletics or arts, our programs are excellent and can sustain anyone. The only negative thing I have to offer is that some teachers are only there for the paycheck, and not the students. Yes, Tamaqua has one of the best health care plans and teacher salary institutions, but sadly some are just not the best at their jobs.
Tamaqua Area School District (TASD) is the only district that I have been exposed to, but I fully believe that it is an overall great school. I have challenged myself with honors classes as well as with extracurriculars and thus far have been successful. The honors classes and AP classes provided are both challenging and effective. The faculty is very encouraging, compassionate, and will sacrifice their free time to help you if you are struggling with the class. Furthermore, the language arts department has done an excellent job for preparing their students for the SATs and with writing essays. Aside from core courses, TASD also provides a variety of electives which allow the student to explore subjects that they may have an unknown passion for. Additionally, TASD has a wide range of extracurriculars and sports that are open to all students. As an upcoming senior, I am pleased to say that my years at Tamaqua have been educational as well as fun!
