The school focused on sports rather than education. They had preferences on supporting and funding the football team rather then worrying about ways for students to gain more knowledge, resources, and parent involvement in students success. The school should focus on scholarships and funding to prepare students for college since this is within a low income area. The district is very aware of the gang related activity and not letting students off campus but they provide horrible lunches therefore a majority of students do not even have lunch.
Sunnyside has a great student assistance and plenty of resources to help them towards their future goals both academically and emotionally. They have great staff and faculty that help encourage students to be greater. The school is really big and has many elective options as well as running start and college in the classroom options.
One thing I would change about the school would be the way in which it spends a large sum of money into buying accessories and tools that are not necessary to have. They do go overboard in decal, for example logo imprinted soap dispenser and trash cans.

It’s a good school and they have rigorous courses. They have AP/ college in the high school and honors for those who exceed in academics. Not only that but they have many electives to choose from, ranging anywhere from health sciences to personal finance. They are dealing with online very well and have made a schedule that you can get easily accustomed to. The teachers are very professional and help students when they need it . The campus is big but beautiful.
