Sumner county schools overall have good intentions for their students. I went to gallatin high school and i personally feel like the administration needs some work. Though Gallatin can be a tough school, the administration don’t handle situations as well as they should. Some do not listen to their students and just punish to show authority over a situation. They do hope to have their student succeed and push that on them. They give many opportunities for students to succeed. They give supportive opportunities for mental health and give resources for struggling s children and families. The teachers do what they can to help the children succeed. They also do what they can to help support the low in come/ poor children that need food or clothes. Many of the teachers are caring and really do care about their students. Overall, Gallatin high school was a great school to go to and gave me an interesting experience even though they have many things they need to put some work in certain areas
Beech high school has amazing teachers and an amazing staff. The only problem with it is the noise level. Constant screaming from the football team, and other people. The mental health concern is higher but it's not some people's top concern. The bathroom's were semi clean but there were some health concerns. The biggest issue was how the teacher's dealt with troublemakers and people disrupting the class. It has gotten better I would say but the stress level of the classes are too high. I know some kids who have been crying because the work is too much. There are really good teachers but there are also really bad teachers that don't need to be working there. I'd say also that the teachers who deal with the trouble makers need a raise they aren't payed enough. The teachers people actually can talk to about hard things and not feel scared about being judged are the ones we need more of. Because the better state your mental health is the better you're going to succeed.
I feel like the experience of a student in the Sumner County school district differs quite a bit depending on the school they are zoned for. I used to attend Station Camp High School before I was reasoned to Liberty Creek. The culture at SCHS was drastically different from what goes on at LCHS, with the former being much more developed. However the resources and administration at LCHS are much more abundant and experienced.
