Rating 4.34 out of 5 29 reviews
Summit High School is a tight knit community. Everyone knows each other because we all went to school together since 1st grade! All students are pretty friendly to each other, both in and out of school on the weekends, so bullying, at least in my day, was never really a thing. Most people made an effort to include others, except a few rude people. I wish the school was more diverse, that would have better prepared me for college and life!
The Summit Public School District is academically advanced. Along with this, they have a wonderful athletics program. You are able to discover these hidden talents you never knew you have before. Despite the academics and athletic program. The Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School community is a hostile environment. If you are new to this school it may take years for you to feel accepted. I am not going to lie, at this school you may not always even get there. When you graduate from LCJSMS, you move on to the Summit High School. All that happened back in middle school is just gossip and quite frankly, most of the time not ever remembered by your fellow peers. Overall, The Summit Public School District pushes you beyond your comfort zone, preparing and teaching you for and about current times.
Summit Public Schools has been an amazing experience with excellent teachers and engaging programs. Just comparing between my experience and my sister's ten years ago, there has been an increase in diversity and student-teacher engagement. They are constantly working to better themselves.
