Strasburg School District No. 31-J Reviews
I love how everyone is connected and keeps a small town feeling. Strasburg is a small town school and offers a very good amount of opportunities when it comes to a student´s future. They provide very good help when students need aid in and out of class. Everyone gets along and has good friend groups. They provide technology and good resources that make being a student much easier than at other small schools. If I were to change anything at Strasburg High School, I want to change the school. Currently Strasburg High school shares a lunchroom and a gym with the elementary school and separating these resources would help provide better quality and happiness among students. The quality of the gym falls massively and the lunchroom staff have to feed two schools of students at the same time. Adding a gym to the elementary and a lunchroom to the high school would greatly benefit the staff and happiness of students in the school.
My school has always been involved in how every student is and how they interact in the society. The teachers here are very friendly and to be quite frank are probably the best type of people I've met in my life. Most of them are genuine and care for the well being of their students. Some teachers even go out of their way to be able to understand what a student is struggling on. Such as my Calculus teacher, Mr. Hemphill, has helped me with derivatives because I missed so many days due to sports. Hes been there and urging me to come to school early so he can help me. The environment in the school is friendly and since its a small town, everyone knows everyone at the school.
It was an adjustment joining this small district as a 6th grader coming from a big city, but the teachers helped make the transition smooth. They are very focused on education and making everyone feel welcome. The counselors are great, and provide support and guidance with your college path. I only wish that this district offered more electives. More than just Spanish as a second language, more art options, maybe a photography class. Overall all though, I am very pleased with my experience as a student with Strasburg Schools.
