Our son has attended Stillwater since Kindergarten and he is now a senior graduating this year. My son will tell you it is the best school ever and that pretty much sums up all we need to know. It is critically important that your child love their school because when they do they connect themselves to the community and their education far better than they would if they did not love their school.
As a parent I have enjoyed the small town/small school aspects of the community. The community revolves around the school and vice versa. It is plainly put 'nice'.
I do wish the school had an indoor pool, but that aside the teachers have all been great. I am not a huge fan of the role the guidance counselors put forth and I think that some work has much to be done on that end, but the rest of the school and the benefits have made up for what is lacking.

This school has multiple places for students to encompass themselves in the school culture. Our school has a great football team which makes our school very supportive of each other. Besides our sports, the teachers here are always willing to help out when a student needs help. Our science teachers especially are top notch. During regents and finals week, there are many studying opportunities available for students to use.
I love my high school. It is very small (only about 80 kids in my graduating class) but I love it. I love knowing everyone around me and being friends with pretty much everyone. We recently got a new principal, Dr. Johnson, and he is probably the best change Stillwater has seen in a long time. He always seems happy and joyful, and even when a situation occurs he remains calm and collected. He is always out, walking around the school talking to students and teacher, showing up at sporting events, and tagging along on field trips. I will always be great full that he chose to come to Stillwater and stay.
