Stewart County School District Reviews
As a student, I have always had support from teachers and faculty, you just have to be willing to seek it! There are many opportunities I have received here that I may not have at a larger school and I am thankful for that. There are challenges if you are looking for them and there is a lot to be involved in. The school could benefit from more student interaction between administration, however. I believe there are many ways the school expand in programs and to improve the student life.
As a student of Stewart Co High School, I would say the school district is growing in more ways than I thought possible. Technology is used in nearly every classroom despite being a small school with lower level funding. Teachers are amazing and are very involved in students’ lives. They go out of their way to help students, and treat most students like their own children. There are a number of clubs to get involved in at SCHS including, but not limited to: HOSA, FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, Yearbook, Beta Club, Math Team, and Student Council. College readiness is a top priority at SCHS and many students in my graduating class have scored 30+ on the ACT. Stewart Co High School is growing into a wonderful school, but being in a small town causes it to have lower amounts of funding and not very much diversity as a school.
Most of the teachers are really cool people. Great sports programs. One thing I would like to see change is the fact that middle school students must pick between band or gym. Another thing I'd like to see change is some teachers compete with one another to see who can get through the material the fastest, which wasn't helpful for students like me. They do teach some AP classes in high school, which is an awesome opportunity. They also have the option for dual enrollment with Austin Peay or Bethel.
