Standish-Sterling Community Schools has always had a great student body. In a small town, letting small things set you apart from the rest is often the case; but in Standish, nine times out of ten, you can find somebody to eat lunch with. You will always have a partner.
The catch is, the administration is good, but uppity. They often favor the kids with last names they've deemed "good" either through their siblings, or through their abilities with sports. If you don't play sports, it's hard to be favored. Also, if you have a last name they've deemed "bad" it's hard to move your way up in reputation with the administration.
There is little diversity, most of the kids being white conservatives that come from old conservative families. Most of the kids prefer to stay closeted if they happen to be homosexual because of discrimination.
Overall, Standish is a good school with good students, with poor administration if you come from the wrong side of the tracks.

Standish-Sterling is a fairly okay school, however must of the money goes into athletics, paying little attention to the arts. The school is new and up to date but unfortunately there lunch menu is not. Nacho Tuesday every Tuesday? A tad repetitive if I must say. The school also lacks in the terms of culture and ethnic respect. Students are given days off for hunting season, while important beneficial days for the human race like Martin Luther King Jr. Day are not. Standish has its quirks and definitely has room for improvement but some of the teachers out there truly are the best. Granted not all, but there are those who become allies to you and who truly do care about you and what you want for the rest of your life. Some of the faculty however can be cruel to students (probably would be best not to name names).
Very good school counselors that will help you on your way to graduation. Many of the teacher actually care about you personally and want you to do your best. All the math teachers tenth grade up will get you ready for the real world, college, and the SAT. Staff is more favorable if you have a certain last name. But, over all very caring school district.
