Spring Grove Area School District Reviews
9 out of 10 teachers are amazing. The building and property is absolutely beautiful. The music department is the best, but it feels like no recognition is ever given. The district only seems to focus on the sports. The admin seems like they couldn’t care less and are just there for the money. It would be really nice to have the students opinions heard, and to actually have them taken into consideration. The amount of homework is insane and it seems as though some teachers don’t understand students have lives outside of math. The middle school teachers and high school science teachers are the best. The high school also offers a large variety of different classes and prepares you for college.
I would love it if the students’ views, ideas, and opinions were listened to and considered. I am grateful for the career center because it it open after school and I was able to use it to really study. The nurse doesn’t actually do anything when a student is severely injured and that’s not okay. I am grateful for the protocol for when a student dies. The protocol was to let anyone upset go to the library and stay there as long as they needed. This really helped because we’d go from crying to joking to crying again so I appreciated that the teachers didn’t butt in or make us leave during the small moments of humor. There is too much homework given out. English class should be about the English language; not all about ‘reading comprehension’. The anonymous school tip line should be more publicized so students know and do use it in not-okay situations without worry. The tip line should also be proven to be absolutely anonymous.
Spring Grove High School definitely became a huge part of my life after joining student council. As a previously closed-minded district lacking diversity, it was amazing to see the growth of the district over my four years spent in high school. As the student council president my senior year, I was able to have a large say in the activities that were hosted. We aimed to host more events focusing on diversity and teamwork rather than competition, and I believe we accomplished this to the best of our abilities. If I could go back in time, I would not choose another school district to receive my education.
