I didn't grow up in Spotsylvania county but I did end up going to high school in this county and I had a great experience with the schools. I had moved to the area from another state and was on a different learning track than other students my age but the teachers were great and they were all willing to help me and get me on track with everyone else! The teachers at Spotsylvania high are really nice and the counselors were always willing to help you with your schedule and college options whenever you needed help. I was interested in going into nursing so the counselor suggested the Career and Tech center. This center is a place that students at any of the high schools in the county can enroll in and they can take classes there based on the career they may want to go into. The classes they have there are cooking, car/auto shop, cosmetology, childhood development, medical/health, and several other amazing classes! Everyone there was so nice and willing to help us with anything!

In spotsylvania county public schools, I experienced several amazing things. I had the greatest teachers from head start all the way through to my senior year of high school. I grew emotionally and educationally with three of my high school teachers which of whom I still talk to, to this day. They have helped me so much with being a first generation college student in my family and even helped me through an emotional crisis. My high school teachers helped me grow into an even stronger and confident woman. Although I do not really think the school curriculum itself helps students transition between high school into college. It does allow students to really participate and enjoy their high school experience. I personally was apart of quite a few clubs and within those clubs I got a better understanding of the subject such as French and Latin, while also learning how to be argumentative in debate club. These clubs are great ways to build your own family and get involved in your school
I am a senior at Riverbend High, and have been a student in the county for twelve years now. In elementary school, I was surrounded by great teachers and peers. They helped shape me into the person I am today and provided me with such a strong academic foundation. I was pushed to try new things and they helped me when I needed it; socially, emotionally, and academically. The teachers in middle school helped prepare me for a rigorous high school course load and I truly did feel ready once I entered Riverbend. I am in the governor's school program so I knew the teachers from freshmen to senior year and they helped me become a better student and prepare me for college. There were countless opportunities to get involved in clubs and activities. My school is in the largest sports conference but the competition varies based on the sport. The diversity varies on the school, food is decent enough, and any safety concerns were addressed immediately by admin. Overall, I had a great experience.
