Southwest Dubois County School Corporation Reviews
I have worked in the corporation since my son was in kindergarten. My son got a great education, excellent teachers, made great friends, played sports, and was a member of several clubs. He is now starting his junior year at Indiana University in Bloomington. My time at Huntingburg Elementary has been very good. I work as an assistant to a fantastic group of teachers who truely care about their students.
I enjoyed my peers and faculty, but I would like to see more effort from both in the math and English departments. They, in no way, prepared me for college. Also, there was a lot of racism towards many of the hispanic students. The faculty did a great job at being kind to them, but did little to enforce it to the students. I also feel like there should have been some kind of program to raise awareness for dating violence. In addition, lots of the school's budget goes to football, and somehow the art and music department starves.
It is a friendly environment with teachers that are devoted to helping students learn. There are plenty of resources for students to use for homework, college, or extracurricular.
