The teachers can be cool there and if you ask for help they would help. We would also have some pretty cool events, our football team is pretty amazing southside is a really cool school.
Great school I go to the high school and love the environment there it’s a good school overall the people there and teachers are great and very helpful and supportive in everything you do there is so much to get involved in at the school. I love the sports coaches are very supportive and encouraging. Teacher are very good help you no matter what and just want to see you succeed no matter what.
Southside Highschool is decent school if you find yourself within the right groups. For example, ECHS students and athletics students have their time at SHS relatively nice compared to their normal class counterparts. I had a friend who was in regular classes that found himself struggling to learn. He felt that he didn’t have the right teacher teaching him. While I, on the other hand, felt SHS do good for me. I am an ECHS student who felt that the college allowed for me to have new experiences with my peers. My peers were able to be my support group as we went through all of the same things when it came to college. Find your niche at SHS, you’ll be happier than if you did nothing at all.
Lots of extracurricular opportunities available to the students to capture their interest throughout high school, Most of the teachers are very helpful in helping students when having trouble on understanding the concepts many teachers offer flexible tutoring for extra help or to make up assignments or test . Students culture is very strong many students attend pep rally's or games after school to show school spirit.
What I liked most about my school district is that they are most caring about their students. They do things non school related to help their students have fun and succeed. There are many different races living around the district so it’s not predominantly one race. Everyone gets along with one another and we act like a big family. The teachers care about their students success and want to see the best out of us. They push us as hard as they can and I think that is very important.
Southside has gave me so much opportunities in my future. Also the teachers there have help me a lot through out my four years of high school.
I've attended Southside High School for four years and my experience was overall pleasant. The teachers are kind and care for what they do. SISD also have many clubs to join and very good sports teams. The food could be better but I understand its only cafeteria food.
Southside Independent School District is an average public school system, that provides a rural area in San Antonio with the opportunity to excel in their educational career. Resources are made available to individuals and families who appreciate the value of furthering education.
I like the spirit of my school everyone comes together when needed and we show our school pride great and it’s a great school I just would like to see more involvement in some of the students and community!!
The teachers are excellent, but the school lacks basic resources ranging from copy paper for teachers to toilet paper in the bathrooms. The music department is currently undergoing renovations and is getting a new facility with equipment they deserve. The staff is wonderful, the teachers are a delight and they truly create a good environment and fun learning experience for the students, but the school is really outdated and dirty.
The teachers had no passion in what they did. I feel like I was not successfully set up for college. However there was a select few teachers that did make my academic experiences worth while, I feel the overall feel of the school was horrid. Administration should work on the importance of all students rather than certain administrators children first. I will always have cardinal pride however this was because of the passion my coach had for what he did. The teachers should be able to do the same for those who were interested in other things. I hope the school really steps up for the students as we are the future of this nation.
My Experience at Southside High School was very good . From Academics to sports, extracurricular activities and just the whole process of getting there students ready for college. There are kids who just don’t care about Academics , Don’t show up to school , feel like they can do whatever they want. Then at the end of the year they are struggling last minute to make up credits and pick up their grades . Though are school finds a way to help out all students. From my experience , being in a sport or some type of extracurricular activity. Really helps with grades . You have to have high grades and be eligible to even participate. It’s just another step to help you with scholarships , and easy path to college .
I liked that fact that students get free lunch. You can see a connection within each and every student that gives a good vibe off.
The teachers are great , they all try helping you with what they can .They offer great tutoring ,and one on one .
Recently, there has been a change in how the administration deal with the behavioral issues at the school. Although i can only speak for the high school campus, things have started to run more efficiently.
The thing I liked about southside highschool was the shop classes and hands on classes to really teach kids a trade they could use later in life however the program is dying and may not stay as good as it is
What I liked about The Southside Independent school district is that everyone feels like family. Everyone is so welcoming and inviting and always nice to each other. But I would like to see change is the safety issues we have at the school.
