Southern Regional was a large school with over 2,200 students. In such a large school, it is easy for dynamics to be pulled in different directions, but luckily that was never the case.Throughout my time, our school was been devastated with tragedies like Super Storm Sandy in 2012 and sudden deaths of students and teachers. It is in these hard times that I felt fortunate to be a part of such a large school because even though you may not have necessarily been "best friends" with everyone, we were all always willing to come together to benefit a greater purpose. We served as a shelter to those impacted by the storm, collected cans to feed the less fortunate, and provided love and support when faith took a hit. Being a Ram was much more to me than sitting in a desk learning my academics. It taught me how to be an active member in my society and always looking to give back for the greater good of others through service learning opportunities.

Southern Regional High School is an extremely welcoming school community where academics are expected. Via a teamwork approach students that are fortunate to attend this place come back to share that their future success always linked back to what happened at Southern Regional. The teacher are supportive and knowledge in their content. Activities before, during and after school cover a number of interests. There is something for everyone. The faculties are beautiful as well. The hallways are lined with student created murals. Accomplishments of past students are also displayed so you get a fee for the history of the school as you travel around the campus.
Southern Regional School District services approximately 4 large, diverse communities in the Southern section of the state and takes pride in offering their very best to both staff and students. The class sizes are relatively small and countless resources are offered to ensure success. Students are immersed in an environment in which they are able to express themselves and succeed academically in whatever way most suits them. Additionally, students are presented with an extensive list of co-curricular activities as well as electives in which they are sure to find their niche and a means of social belonging. I cannot stress enough how well Southern prepared me for my post-graduation life, which for me way a college path, and I truly hope to serve as an educator within their walls to give back to a place that gave me so much.
