It was a great experience, however there are a few aging teachers and a few that are not really up to the task of teaching. The band program is underfunded in lieu of sports, however band is not a very important aspect anyways so it makes sense. The high school could use some repairs, but there is nothing life-shatteringly bad about it. There is not much diversity, but that is because the school district is predominantly white. The school lunches should be avoided, since the corporation has outsourced to a school lunch corporation that produces terrible, cheap quality food. The changes to regulations on school lunches are probably also partially to blame for this. The school district compared well to others that I've experienced, such as the woodlands school district in Texas, and Conroe District in southern Ontario. The one to one technology policy with Macbooks has also helped prepare students, and the program that lets students graduate with an associate's degree is amazing.
I went to NPHS all four years of high school and had a pretty okay time. The bathrooms were usually broke most of the time and the food wasn't the greatest, but the teachers were great and I learned a lot.
we moved here for out kids to go to the middle school. They came from an excellent private school but it only wen to 6th grade.
This has been an excellent experience and has been a great transition for our daughter
