Southern Columbia Area School District Reviews
I love the atmosphere, where everybody knows everybody! I will miss the tight knit community here at Southern Columbia. I would like to see some more student involvement in the school. I would also love to see more school spirit in support of all of our extracurriculars; such as, sports, band, chorus, student council, national honor society, and all of our other clubs/sporting events. Other than that, there’s not much else I would change. Our teachers are great, and our classes are great. My high school experience has been amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the last thirteen years of my life than at Southern Columbia.
Southern Columbia’s academics are fair. They don’t have as many choices as the surrounding schools, but the courses they offer are more challenging. The school environment is terrible. The students are divided between athletes and non athletes. If you aren’t an athlete watch out. Many staff members will not treat you fairly and your voice will never be heard in the eyes of administration. A lot of major issues get swept under the carpet at this school. Do your research before sending your child here.
Southern Columbia is such a great school district and like many places, people, and things, it is not perfect. This school district has provided students with many opportunities both athletic and academically. Through this school, I have met most of my closest friends. The district is very supportive whether it's sports or the loss of a student or coach. One thing the district could do better is spend some of its budget on fixing up the bathrooms and more run down hallways.
