Southeast Polk Community School District Reviews

Southeast Polk is full of opportunities, if you choose to take advantage of those offered in high school, you can graduate with almost all of you college general education requirements for college out of the way thanks to their AP and dual enrollment opportunities. The student body has tons of school spirit and many students have athletic success. There was not a ton of diversity when I attended, but hopefully that will change. Every experience in life is all about what you make it, and attending school at Southeast Polk gives you all the tools to have an exciting and educational high school experience. Not to mention the talented and gifted programs the promote with their younger students and the character and moral values they instill in students, all the way from pre-school to senior high.
Review Southeast Polk Community School District
I have been at this school district for my entire school career and Southeast Polk Schools offer a good, decent education in most areas. It seems that they, especially the high school are very focused on sports and support sports way more than the arts and technology, though they are getting a bit better. They have a great FFA program being that many parts of the district are rural farming areas. In comparing SEP to other school districts in the area, they are lacking with their funding for the arts including music, theater, speech and business and also their support. All things considered, the district is a pretty decent but could use an injection of new ideas and offer more classes that are technology based.
Southeast Polk is an absolutely fantastic school district, and is the perfect mix of a large school and student body in the small rural town of Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Southeast Polk offers a wide variety of classes and many opportunities for students to challenge themselves with rigorous courses. With a very large student body, 2,000+, and many clubs, sports, and organizations, there are ways for every student to get involved, grow, and make friends. The staff is very caring, and there has never been a moment when I have not felt safe and well cared for. Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Southeast Polk and highly recommend it to others.
