Southampton Union Free School District Reviews
Southampton was a perfect school for me growing up! The teachers put so much effort in building strong and close relationships with their students. They were always willing to work with students who were struggling if they asked for it. There were many classes offered between electives and AP classes. The sports were given many resources despite not being that great and the overall facilities are nice. The diverse student body led to a great experience. The only downsides were the clique nature of a small school which often caused drama because everyone knew everything about each other. Some areas of administration may also need help.
As a senior at Southampton High School, I can tell you that here at Southampton there is something for everyone, everything from a robotics club to a Cultural Latino Club, where you can meet and interact with students from different backgrounds. Although Southampton has many factors that may have a positive impact on many students, there are also a few things that may be improved in the following years. Alongside these activities, you can find a group of staff that is willing to ensure that every student understands the curriculum, even if they have to spend hours on each individual student. One such improvement that can be made is the food sold within the building. Although it was bearable, the food was not exactly something that I look forward to everyday and would much rather purchase food from the local deli. Beside this factor, there are not many negative experiences that one can have at this school that is full of determined students.
It’s an okay school. Academics are fine and the school encourages kids to participate in AP’s. Except, teachers come into class late and that’s seen as acceptable. Some teachers have many personal days or they simply do not show up because their life is stressful. Kids in this school go through the same thing yet, that’s often ignored.
