My experience with Sowashco has been positive overall. I have enjoyed the teachers and education experience and I also gained a lot from their music program and PLTW department. However, Sowashco needs to stop bowing down to woke liberals and they need to bring back Elementary extracurricular music.
Terrible school district that do not have a grasp on priorities. For a school that focuses on learning with tablets and laptops, they should invest in some level of content blocking because I do not appreciate my child being allowed to look at pornography while he should be focusing on schoolwork.
Teachers will solicit a field trip permission form 5 times a week but is not willing to hold a student accountable when they literally are doing no work in school.
No, I do not think my student deserves to go on a field trip when he gets bad grade and looks at pornography on your school network. Instead of asking me 5 times a week for a permission slip, maybe you should keep an eye on what your students are doing during school hours because I definitely do not allow this crap at home.

The staff and teachers are very patient and easy to talk to. The curriculum prepares you for college adequately. The only problem I have is the food although there are days where the meals are really good, most of the times it’s not the best and pretty limited. It’s obvious that the county is trying its best to make everyone comfortable and safe and as a student I feel safe at my school. The county also has a rigorous course levels such as AP and IB class in some schools which are really beneficial in preparing for college. What can be improved is the number of college and career fairs we have cause those are really helpful too. The amount of scholarships available for students also a variety for students of all color and background. Overall there are already solid attempts at improving school experience, such as the career and college fair I talked about that was just implemented so I understand the reason why it’s limited. Also informational meetings on certain programs are helpful.
Park High School Scholars graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly global and diverse society. As a culturally rich community, we ALL learn and grow together through diverse opportunities that foster culturally competent communication, collaboration, and critical thinking that enhance post secondary readiness AND contributions to local and global communities.
I like south Washington county schools, I've gone to 4 in total and have had decent experiences at all that I went to. One think however I think South Washington county schools could improve at is communicating. Most of the schools I've gone to, to the best of my knowledge haven't done the best job at putting out important information such as dates for things in deadlines for things with much notice in advance. Overall however my experience was good.
This county has very diverse views and as an African American I have felt very welcomed in my school and this is a big deal for me. Although they are not perfect and there is still some racial problems going on, they try their best to amend these problems from the roots to make sure everyone of any gender and race feels welcome and safe.
I enjoyed the extra study time the teachers gave us before our classes and I also liked being able to work with my teachers well to solve academic problems.
Clear communication with students and parents. Safe school district with good teachers. There needs to be more college prep and guidance through the admission process.
I have enjoyed my time at South Washington County schools. I've never gone to another school district, but I made lots of personal connections with my teachers. I remember in third grade and switching schools the teacher puposely put me next to the other new student so we felt more comfortable.
South Washington County is beyond corrupt with finances. They’re constantly asking for more money and to raise taxes all while the super intendent and administrators get raises. This doesn’t include their vehicle right offs or their performance pay bonuses. It says something when the super intendent doesn’t even live in the state of Minnesota yet gets paid more than the state governor.
I went to Park high School in this district. Overall most of my teachers were knowledgeable and kind. Liked all of the extracurricular activities that they had, had fun going to football and volleyball games. The AVID program there is very helpful and useful. I would recommend enrolling in that class.
This is the worst district my family has ever lived in. These teachers take liberalism to whole other level! I'm thankful to be moving out of this district in a couple months.
I moved to this district before I started 4th grade. I had an amazing 9 years here, thank you for everything!
My experience at South Washington County schools was pretty average. There was nothing super special about it but it definitely was a good district to be in. Some decisions that they made I agreed with but others, like not counting our grades when COVID hit and we did school at home I did not agree with their decision to not count those grades, especially for the students to continued to work hard and get good grades.
I have been apart of this district since Day One of my education. My elementary school, Grey Cloud, was spectacular in their math classes specifically. Every grade prepared me for the next grade and ultimately high school. I was very fortunate to have the meals they served as well. Amazing staff across the board, too. The high school theater programs are extremely successful as well. Great district to grow up in!
Very nice and friendly people and faculty. Academics are good quality but not too many options (very few APs and Honors courses). Great location because there are many sports fields near by. Many options for Sports/clubs. Overall a pretty good school.
South Washington County has a very good education program and has great teachers. I enjoyed my experience of schooling in South Washington County. Website is easy to navigate. Only issue inconsistent administration choices.
