Developing community, lots of young families, lots of new schools being built! Very safe community as well, with two police stations in the area. Most of the teachers love what they are doing but the reason im giving four stars instead of five is because theres a few teachers that arent very good at what they do. While rare, if you are stuck with one it can make for a lack of learning on the subject.

Although South Lyon schools aren’t the most diverse, it’s a very much so inclusive district. I lived a life early on in my childhood that required us to move every year; when I came to South Lyon I was rewarded with the eduction that I needed in order to pursue a successful future. Coming from a family where I would be a first generation college student, having a good foundation for my education was crucial. Seeing how privileged I am compared to other surrounding districts, I can’t help but be thankful for all the resources I have been offered throughout my seven years living in the South Lyon district.
I started school in South Lyon at Sayre Elementary. I attended Sayre from kindergarten to fifth grade. I loved all the teachers and the principal was very involved with the parents. I attended Centennial Middle School grades sixth through eight. At the time, the principal was excellent, he has since moved onto South Lyon East HIgh School. I now attend South Lyon High School. I love it. It is a D2 school, so not as big as most high schools in the area. I have cheered varsity cheer for four years and played tennis. I have had great teachers who have been very proactive in helping me along the way.
