South Kingstown School District Reviews
The South Kingstown School District provided me with a well-rounded education. There are some amazing faculty that made me who I am today. However, I feel that certain practices must be updated and other faculty are not beneficial to the school community. With a fresh change in Administration, the future direction of the district is still unknown. The school committee needs to start to really focus on the future of the district and to plan accordingly.
They are currently in turmoil with large number of administrators resigning or retiring during the 2018-2019 school year. We are heading into a new school year with new administrators, new principals, and an interim superintendent. It feels like the rats are deserting a sinking ship. All the while, the teachers (who are excellent) seem to be under a cover of fear of what the school committee might come up with next. This has a negative affect on the kids as they can sense the problems.
It was pretty good. I liked the teachers a lot, and there were lots of extracurricular opportunities. There were some weird administrative decisions while I was there, and the school board is a very political organization. But the high school itself was good.
