The new administration is taking the district in the right direction. Overdue curriculum planning is taking place and special education is being improved. This is a district that cares deeply about ALL students' success. Hopefully the community will get the district on a path to improve facilities that will match up with the top notch education and programming.
The building itself needs to be torn down and a new school built. Sport facilities are substandard. There needs to be a concerted effort to remove students that don’t want to be in school and more emphasis placed on the students who want an education.
The South Kingstown School District provided me with a well-rounded education. There are some amazing faculty that made me who I am today. However, I feel that certain practices must be updated and other faculty are not beneficial to the school community. With a fresh change in Administration, the future direction of the district is still unknown. The school committee needs to start to really focus on the future of the district and to plan accordingly.
