South Jefferson Central School District Reviews
We have an amazing community that can come together when we need each other. Unfortunately just due to state guidelines education readiness does lack. There are amazing teachers, but also so doozy ones. Overall great school within the county!
South Jefferson Central School covers the most ground area of any school in New York. It does not have the greatest amount of students though. The school is fairly small, which enables it to have good community involvement. Whenever a family in the community needed help the school would host fundraisers or "fun run/ walks" to raise money for the cause. The clubs had little involvement. I feel that this is because most of the funding for extra curricular activities was spent on sports, leaving many of the other clubs underfunded. For example, being in drama club I remember that we had almost no funding. Therefore, we reused the same stage makeup from year to year and the same costumes. Also, while the football team got a new turf field the school's dance club still has the same stage that was built when the school was first built. The stage is worn out and the lighting becomes very hot. I think the school should spread it's focus to the art as well as sports.
After middle school, I’ve lost touch with teacher and lost interest in school. I honestly hate school now. Most of the teachers aren’t good or even care about you succeeding as an individual, you’re just a number unless you are favorited. It’s a small school with favoritism in everything from sports to class, and it caused many to hate south jeff and move. Small town and small minded people, and no matter what I try from sports, class, or clubs no one cares or listens to changing things for the better. I gave up on the school system, but it’s taught me one thing: you are the only one that can define yourself and take you places so keep your head up and keep learning on your own. You got this no matter what school you attend!
