We moved a year ago to the South Huntington Union Free District, and it turns out it was the best thing we ever did for our children. The teachers in all schools we have been through so far are all very caring, passionate and use contemporary teaching methods and sensible approaches to make sure children feel safe, confident, and engaged in school. My youngest child never liked school, but for 2 consecutive years in a roll, I've heard her say she loves school, and she has improved so much despite the pandemic and everything going on right now. The district's administration tries their best to be transparent and there is a strong sense of community in SHUFSD. There are many activities going on to help support students and administrators are open to suggestions and criticism. This community is diverse, but that is exactly what I was looking for in order to raise my children in a multicultural and sensible manner.
The School Nutrition program has improved incredibly over the course of recent years! Fresh fruits and vegetables have become the norm and a welcome addition to their meals. A winner in my book!
Fabulous , great school district, kids love it, great teachers and system. Very social and attentive to the children, great curriculum
