I've been in the SB school district since elementary school, and I have known it to be one of the best school districts in some areas, while also being the worst. In terms of allowing students to branch out and explore opportunities that interest them, the district is great with that, but with supports systems, there have only been a few adults in each of the schools that I have really felt comfortable with going up to them if I need anything.

It is a well-balanced school where athletics and academics both play a role in the community. The diversity is good for a state that is so isolated, there is an acceptable amount of ethnic groups represented. The teachers are amazing but you really have to take your own learning path into your own hands. They are incredibly helpful only if you are resourceful. There are plenty of clubs and activities to choose from, anyone will find a group of people where they belong. Everyone feels safe, we are a warm and welcoming community. The school culture, however, is comparable to any other... There are cliques and friend groups but don't worry. There are people there for you to adapt and if you catch me I'm here for another three years. The administration is amazing they are kind and respectful while knowledgeable. The food is okay, but our sports are on average very great.
As a high school student at South Burlington, I have a lot of experience with the district. Overall, I am satisfied with what the school has provided me. My only gripe is that I wished there was more offers for students wishing to take advanced classes. The freshman year for students offers no Honors Level classes, which is bothersome. I wish that when I was a freshman that I had the opportunity to take harder and more diverse classes. Class choices are very basic.
