Personally, I feel that I have had a fairly good school experience while traveling through the grade levels with this district. I've been in this school district since Kindergarten; not to mention I am the fourth generation to pass through this district. I found that the teachers, for the most part, were very student based and driven to make sure their students succeed. I never felt forgotten about, or left behind. My only lasting concern throughout the years was with the administration above the teachers. Principles didn't seem to be as involved as the teachers, but if anything they should be more involved. Since it is based in a small town, everyone knew me and my family and I'm sure that contributed to the health of my experience.

In my personal experience, I found there to be a handful of teachers that actually cared and did a good job of teaching students within Sonoma. If the district was full of the teachers, I am certain some of the ratings would drastically improve. There is a lack of diversity within the county itself that is reflected upon the schools. There are many cases in which teachers go based by favourites and a lot of the system is based on how well as student is able to preform academically in terms of their grade, not by how much they are truly learning.
Sonoma Valley Unified District has had it's up and down in recent years. There has been a lack of communication and they few attempts have been executed horribly. The school are mostly average in academics and I believe that there are only a few good teacher out there. There is a lot to improve on.
