I have gone to school in Soledad Unified School district since Kindergarten. I had an amazing experience in elementary but as I reached middle and high school, everything seemed to go downhill. Of course, there is no such thing as a perfect district, but Soledad unified could use work. Areas that clearly lack are; resources for students such as mental health and well-being, our mathematics department for upper grades, inclusivity for the neurodiverse population, & parent/student involvement. These are all things I would change about the district but overall I would like to see the district include youth and parent voices, such as decision making. None the less I am thankful for the education I was able to receive these past 13 years.
Really helpful district, willing to help students succeed. Soledad unified school district main focus is make students succeed in life. In general it’s is a safe place and make the school a better environment for us to study every day. They strive everyday to find better ways to get us to learn better, feel safe, helpful resources also the staffs is very good.
As a senior from Soledad High School, I obtain the experience and general knowledge of how this school functions, handles complex situations and cooperates with students to ensure they acquire the resources, support, and knowledge to transform them into college ready students. Taking solely my experience into consideration, I can inform others on the impact this school has provided me with. Soledad High School is filled with ambitious students who seek to reach their full potential and qualified teachers who are devoted in assisting their students in terms of academic success. Although Soledad is a small town, Soledad High School is passionate about aiding students with the best resources for them to experience things outside the local community through clubs and activities, learn new way to express themselves through their school culture, and involve parents with school updates, in order for them to be aware of student’s academic process.
