Smyrna School District Reviews
I enjoy going to Smyrna! My teachers, for the most part, have been great and truly inspiring. I just think that they could improve the curriculum so that it's more real life based and does actually prepare us for college. I have yet to receive much info on how I should prep myself for college.
My experience at Smyrna High was a very interesting one. You meet and are involved with people of many walks of life, religion and preferences. The 2 things I don't like about my school is that they focus solely on football and don't give the same energy to the other sports. I experienced this first hand because I run track. The second this is the food!!!! I like that they make no food to not limit our pallet but, it lacks flavor and it seem like they try to starve us. They served us buffalo marconi and cheese with no side dish. Everyone was hungry and unfortunately individuals couldn't get doubles. The pizza...... is entirely to small for the students and the staff. We should at least get 2 slices to fill us up. One slice of pizza will never do the trick. Overall, I had an amazing experience and wouldn't trade my friends or life lessons for anything.
As a student who has lived in different states and seen other schools, I would say that the Smyrna School district is above average. Many of the faculty are very supportive and provide access to materials to help you succeed. Our specialized pathways have been recognized at the state level, and it is almost guaranteed that you can not pick the wrong path. My biggest criticism would be the school lunch food, although it has been getting better over the past couple years, I think we lack great food. In no means were my expectations high for the food, but I am a picky eater. During my tenure we have had outstanding sports teams, and our facilities are top notch. Also our district has demonstrated the ability to push on in the face of adversity. Compared to the neighboring districts, I would definitely recommend Smyrna based on my experience with other students as well as my own. Go Eagles!!!
