Overall, my experience with the Sioux Falls School District has been a pleasant one. The teachers are really committed to their jobs, and they’re willing to help anyone with anything they might be struggling with. My only problem I’ve ever had with the District is with the counseling system. I’ve never once had a pleasant experience dealing with the counseling department: no one communicates with each other, they make simple things really complicated (like changing a schedule— I once I had to go a email conversation with my counselor that took days because she didn’t understand what I wanted), and instead of helping you with your problems they suggest different alternatives that don’t help.

I like Sioux Falls School District because of it's diversity. The Sioux Falls School District has students of many ethnic groups and races, which fills the schools with opportunity. These opportunities include the chance to broaden your horizons by learning about other cultures and opening your mind to people who you wouldn't ordinarily befriend. I haven't seen any bullying in my time with the Sioux Falls School District. I think there is little bullying because all of the students recognize, and respect, that we are all different.
The calendar isn't the best with school starting in August but semester tests still being right after Christmas break. Ad room only being for reading and not homework isn't ideal, especially when so many kids have extracurriculars during SRP (like string/orchestra) or after school that gives them less time to get everything done well. Sports are good though, they have a good program working with Sanford POWER that helps student-athletes better themselves. The variety of clubs available is good too. I wish there were more health-related or medicine-related classes that aren't at CTE that you can take at school on a normal schedule.
