The Sioux Falls School District has prepared me very well for college and further schooling! Every year I felt welcomed in every one of the four schools I went to. When I rode the bus in elementary school and middle school, the busses were almost always on time.
The only thing I would say the district needs to work on would be the discrepancy between some schools. Lincoln High School seems much nicer than Washington, probably because Washington is older.

I attended Sioux Falls School District schools k-12. During my time, I participated in the EGP program, Honors program, and AP classes. These classes and opportunities provided by the district were influential in my decision to pursue higher education and set me up for success by letting me earn college credits while in high school. Overall, staff and faculty were friendly and helpful, but despite my success in this district, I noticed that students that did not have access to the same programs I did didn't appear to get as much help as those of us who were part of these programs. I took classes with students that were not a part of the AP, Dual Credit, etc., programs, and teachers would help these students, but not provide the same praise that keeps us students motivated. There was more acknowledgement towards the students that pushed themselves into these tougher classes, and not as much for those that succeeded doing what was required, and that is what I would like to see change.
Very impressed with our school district, lots of parent and community involvement. Elementary schools are excellent! Great teachers at the elementary level that are very involved with the students. Middle school music and band programs are excellent!
