Simsbury School District Reviews
Simsbury High School is an excellent public high school with a rigorous academic program and an extremely high level of education. Students are pushed to their greatest academic potential. Though students receive exorbitantly large amounts of homework for their classes, it is helping them to prepare for college. Simsbury is a very clean and safe school with great resources for their students, and I feel very blessed to live in a town that can provide me with such a great quality education.
The quality of teachers is relatively high in comparison to other schools, and there is a general culture of kids wanting to do well. However, there is a definite lack of integrity/big cheating culture at my school, and many kids are too grade centered. Still, I appreciate the diverse curriculum, however my chosen language was discontinued, so I have some difficulty keeping on the track in that sense.
What I found to be incredible within Simsbury's school district is the student's devotion to music and theater. Starting at elementary school, these kids are forced into choirs until they get into middle school, where they can decide between choir and tech/crew. Once they get to high school, they aren't required to take any more of these courses - but so many seem to do so either way. The overpowering amount of talent and passion for music is irreplicable.
