Silver Lake provides the quintessential high school experience for teenagers within the district. The facilities may not be glamorous nor the food exquisite, however the academic achievement of students speaks volumes about the quality of teachers and the community's mentality of success. In addition to being a sports powerhouse, the school is known for its prominent debate team and music program.

Silver Lake is a small school; therefore, there is a lot of one-on-one time between teachers and students. I think that this factor alone is a major reason that students at Silver Lake are so successful. There are not a lot of cliques because of the size, everyone is friends with everyone. Teachers push students to achieve their greatest potential and students strive to succeed.
