Overall, I would say that the district is more than competent in academics and sports. There is a strong motivation from students and teachers to do well. Unfortunately, clubs aren't highlighted nearly as much as they should be. Incoming classes do not have any sort of drive to join extracurricular activities that aren't sports. Additionally, the district is in Wyoming, so the world view is pretty limited. Although the instances are minimal, teachers and students are not told that the things they say are inappropriate or unnecessary.
I liked the multiple opportunities that the school district provided me, I think without the many opportunities I would not be as prepared for college and moving forward with my life as I am. I think that the science department at the high school is in desperate need of improvement and some of the teachers are in core subjects. However, overall I think that the teachers across the district really enjoy what they are doing and care about the students that they interact with daily.
Sheridan County School distract prides themselves on academic and athletic excellence. In the 2018-2019 school year, Sheridan High School was voted into the top 100 High Schools across the country. Academically, Sheridan readily prepares their students for college and standardized testing, with Sheridan's average ACT score being 2 points higher than the state average. Likewise, in the 2019-2020 school year, Sheridan took the state title in 4 sports and 1 club. Sheridan is perfect for students seeking an excellent education and athletic system. However, one draw back to Sheridan is its lack of diversity. Due to many students possessing similarities in many aspects of their life, this causes an arrogant and exclusive atmosphere at Sheridan High School. Kids who are different can tend to become outcasts and be detrimental to there high school experience. Overall, Sheridan is a pleasure to attend and a High School student's experience will be enriched at Sheridan.
