This school is a very safe, comfortable, welcoming, and academic school. The kids that come to this school are very kind, caring, and academically driven. Having this type of environment is crucial to learning, and I am confident that when I come to school, I will learn something new. We also have many school leaders that help set this positive tone in our school. The size is very small, which also contributes to the positive learning experience that this school gives. Students get more one on one time with teachers which makes you feel less rushed to more freely ask questions. A recent schedule change has been added to give students time to work on homework at school. This is important because not everyone has the same opportunities at home as they do at school. This gives everyone an equal opportunity to expand their knowledge, and grow academically. Not only is this school a great school academically, but also with student involvement. I enjoy this school as well as you will too.
Sheridan County School District Number one has the kindest elementary, middle, and high school staff anyone could ever meet. The staff would act as another parent, which really affected me. They listen to anything that troubles you, and take action in a second. Most schools, teachers are there to teach education, but in SCSD-1, not only do they do that, but they teach you about life and character. Also, the education prepares us for anything that’s ahead in the future. I’ve learned so much from the teachers there, and it will help me become a great doctor one day. If I would change anything at SCSD-1, I would attempt for more opportunity classes. Since the schools have at the most 150 students, there aren’t very many unique classes that could make students have a passion for and possibly start their career paths towards it. If I could do it over, I would pick Sheridan County School District Number 1 over any district in the country.
It was awesome! They had four days a week and managed to make me more prepared than other schools. the days felt longer, especially with sport afterwards, but it was all worth it. I enjoyed my time here and I got in and out without any problems. I worked hard and had plenty of opportunities to be the best version of myself. The small school environment is probably the best thing about the school because of the ability to enhance education more so than possible in larger schools.
