If you are a D1 athlete the school bends over backwards. Even allowing bullying BY the athletes but not allowing students to stand up to them. Coaches and teachers are never wrong and that's not up for discussion. Facilities are decent but don't ask athletics for help with upgrades because you will be denied. We pay a ton of money for "books" that we don't get and still have to pay extra for iPad Insurance. No worries we have a state of the art football faculty and are getting a new weight room but we lost the host for girls soccer sectionals because our fields aren't turf.
Teachers are good. Most of them try to advocate for the students but run up against a brick wall with admin. They are over worked and under appreciated.
Most people feel safe. It's mainly who your family is determines whether or not something will be done if something happens to you. And if your parents get on the bad side of admin for complaing or questioning anything, forget it, you are now a target. But go SHs

There isn’t much opportunities here as well as for the teachers. We have lost many teachers and just don’t have enough to be able to disturb the work properly. I feel bad for them as well as the way they deal with mental health is a joke. We have had many students commit suicide and the school just shoves it under the rug and didn’t even bother to put a memorial for them.
Shelbyville Central Schools is the district I attended from Preschool to 12th grade. It has been a good district to be apart of, but I will say it has its flaws like any other district. I believe that minority races could have been better represented amongst the staff. I also feel like the decisions made during the COIVD-19 Pandemic could have been handled better, to incorporate everyone apart of the district.
